Grading Policy
We have a new report card to align with the new State Standards. We will now be using a 3, 2, 1 grading system that corresponds with the new report card.
3 . Achieving Standard (Proficient) - The student consistently demonstrates grade level for concepts in the majority of the third grade standards. The student, with few errors, grasps and applies key concepts, processes and skills for third grade.
2 . Nearly meets or is making progress toward Standards - The student is making progress towards understanding of third grade concepts and skills with assistance.
1 . Not yet making sufficient progress - The student is not meeting the standard for third grade. The student is not grasping key concepts,
processes and essential skills for third grade.
X . Not Evaluated at this Time - Areas on a report card that receive an X indicate material that has not yet been introduced or is just being
introduced, and the student has not been assessed. Therefore, no grade is given.
**All work should be completed and turned in on time. Work that is not completed will be marked with a zero in the grade book. Once a student has turned in the assignment, their new score will be written in the middle of the zero. This will help keep track of the late work.
Parents will be contacted if a pattern forms with late and/or incomplete work!
We will also mark some papers with possible points such as, 15/20, to indicate how well a task was completed.
